On behalf of AEPC President Dr. Gábor Kovács, the Norwegian Police University College, under the leadership of Rector Ms. Nina Skarpenes, hosted the AEPC Executive Committees first meeting of the year in Oslo, Norway.
The meeting addressed several matters, including procedures for the nomination of the AEPC Vice President, as well as preparations for the upcoming annual scientific conference, with particular emphasis on its theme and structure.
The Executive Committee was pleased to welcome the new Rector of the MIA Academy of Georgia, Ms. Sopio Abulashvili, who was formally introduced during the meeting.
Further discussions covered membership fees, the call for workshop leaders, and the planning of courses and training activities for the 2026–2027 period, including proposed dates and venues. The Committee also discussed possibilities for a future stronger cooperation with other institutions, such as for example CEPOL.
During the visit to Norway, the Committee also got the opportunity to meet with the National Police Commissioner, Mr. Håkon Skulstad, who spoke, among other things, about current issues and topics relevant to the Norwegian police.
